Shi Jin-Hua takes the pen as her best friend, and doodle in irregular directions on white paper or white walls until the lead wears out. This exhibition is split into 2 sections. First, the Pen Walking, and second the Pencil Walker. Works consist of metaphor that each pen or pencil is like duration of a lifetime. The plain white wall gradually turns into gray, then polluted black-looking wall as doodling progresses.
This is a symbolism of karma accumulating from lifetime to lifetime in silence, and the solemn sigh for the fact that “Life is life, there’s nothing you can do about it”. The artist attempts to vent by the random strokes of pen, and give treatment for the depression, anxiety, and stresses in her daily life, and hopefully provide some peace and comfort for the viewers.
