While images of the collapsing Twin Towers were being broadcasting to billions all over the world, a new terror emerged, the worry that potential catastrophe and its unexpected nature, and the idea that the more defenses that we construct, the more anxieties we will suffer. Pei-Shih Tu’s current concern of art practice is examining the link between fantasy and menace in contemporary human conditions by using fictitious narrative. This link, broadly speaking, means a kind of modern life style that deeply relies on fantasy in the period of globalization and late capitalist society.
