Taiwanese Art of the 1950’s displays works by both artists who followed the national government to Taiwan in 1949, and those native to Taiwan at the time, exhibiting works by those artists that influenced art promotion at the time. This exhibit explores those works and artists highlighted by the Eastern Art Association, May Association of Art, the Sun Art Society, the Modern Printmaking Association, the Southern Art Association, the Green Hut Society, the Kaohsiung Art Research Society, the Central Taiwan Art Association, the Seven Friends Painting Association , the New Era Painting Society, the Hsinchu Art Research Council, the Exhibition of National Art and the Teacher’s Art Exhibition. Over 160 works are displayed, including oil, ink, calligraphy, watercolor, sculpture, acrylic, bamboo weaving, wood block and sketch pieces.
