In response to the subject of our bodies besieged by the pandemic, the installation Find Your Way Out leads visitors to walk through an alternative narrow path of merely 2 metres wide. The walking experience hopefully drives visitors to perceive themselves and the world outside, to refine individual body experience, and finally, to reconsider the relationship between body and existence. Departing from body perception, the public program invites visitors to take the body as a starting point so as to look for, by different sensational and corporal explorations, a potential imagination of space.
Body Workshop: Swinging Corridor of Body and Sound
Performer: TUNG I-Feng x Department of Dance, University of Taipei
The choreographer TUNG I-Fen and the students of the Department of Dance, University of Taipei, create together a participatory performance for the X-site project 2023 Find Your Way Out. The dominant movements of the seesaw structure constantly vary with the intervention of the performers and visitors. The consequent sound effect of the steel marbles rolling in the installation produces subtle changes in our relationship, and creates a multi-layered imagination of diversified bodies and sounds. In the swinging corridor, the incessant encounters with each other evolve into a collective dance and creation. And, the other end of the corridor points to a beginning of another brand new journey? Or to where we’ve begun?
