TFAM on the Move Performance

TFAM on the Move invites local residents to share their memories of the area by telling stories with art. Starting from the theme My Daily Taipei, the program includes appreciation of work from the Museum collection, the gathering of recollections, community interaction, and the creation and presentation of artworks. Through these activities, the Museum will strive to explore cultural characteristics as they relate to contemporary Taipei, and deepen the residents’ connection to their community by fostering a sense of local identity.

This display weaves a collective cultural memory by presenting artists associated with Datong District and their works that have been collected by the Museum over the past 36 years. The main image, Ni Chiang-Huai's 1929 painting The Li Chun-Sheng Memorial Hall, is complemented with smaller photos of artworks by other artists. Local residents are invited to explore depictions of Dadaocheng, the Shuanglian Catholic Church, Taipei Bridge, the Taipei Confucius Temple, and other artistic themes in these images.

In collaboration with the Taipei City Datong District Office and Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Museum, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum invited 60 senior residents of the area to create and appreciate art related to Datong District. During the event, the seniors shared memories of Datong, especially the various incarnations of the Taipei Bridge over the years, the street food, Taipei Confucius Temple, Dachiao Cinema, Kué-á Street, and fireworks in Dadaocheng. All of these delightful memories served as subject matter for participants' creations.
