“White Resting in the Air” by Sean Hsu and Lu Lee
Layers of white tulle revolve, undulate, quiver, and scurry about. Does it wrap around some wounded beasts, or is it operated by a machine? Bodies and objects can also be constructed by our imaginations. With a continually operating device, the creators of White Resting in the Air visualize the consumption of human labor. The laboring bodies continually morph under large white piece of clothing to present the complete exhaustion of the body over the duration of this long performance. The outline of the changing form gradually rises into the air.
