Why is New York Attractive?:Neil Peng(lecture) Your creativity @ TFAM

Programmatic Goals:

If a city wants to continue to thrive, creativity is a necessity, as cultural representation is not simply formulaic. Many features of any city can be upgraded or carefully planned, from its living environment and architectural planning to its various cultural productions such as art, industrial design, fashion, print media or audio-visual media. Most importantly, a city must be a safe spiritual haven.

Content of this lecture:

The cultural offerings of New York City draw people from around the world like a magnet. The city has little need for marketing, as most people have a New York travel brochure stored in their heads. But where do people get their impressions of New York City? Why do tourists greedily flock to New York and have such a strong desire to take in its cultural offerings? You may find this shocking, but even government functionaries in New York think like designers, and the city's position as cultural capital of the world has been very deliberately, and solidly constructed, which is exactly what this lecture is about.  (Venue: B2 Auditorium)
