If Taiwan's strength is creativity, then what is its source? Who are the creative people? If Taiwan can count on nothing but creativity, then how long can it last? How can it be extended? These are some of the questions Katherine Hui-ling Chou, professor in the Department of English at National Central University, will address in this lecture. She has worked as both a director and scriptwriter, dedicated herself to both writing contemporary plays and their research, and collaborated with traditional opera companies, dance troupes and visual artists. Chou closely observes her professional collaborators and creative partners, eagerly seeking for strength and resources. Her talk will start with video documentation of the creative process and present theater productions in Taiwan.
