“2011 Documentary on Oil Painting Restoration of the TFAM Collection” documents the Taipei Fine Arts Museum “Oil Painting Collection Restoration Program” which includes 17 pieces of oil paintings in critical states that were in need of conservation: Searching, Self Portrait, Back Alley Under the Moonlight, Anping Ancient Grave by Hsieh Kuo-yong; Wife: Su-e by Liu Hsin-lu; Three Gods, Yellow Fruit by Chen Yin-hui; Faraway Homeland by Chu Wei-bai; Fish Shop by Liu Chih-hsiang; Night Scene, Jiufen by Ho Chao-chu; The Virgins, Japan by Ho Te-lai; Water Lilies, Courtyard by Liao Chi-chun; Monterey Park by Yen Shui-long; and Yeliu Scenery 2 by Chen Hui-kun. The documentary also introduces the unique art styles of Liao Chi-chun and Ho Te-lai, as well as the exciting conversation between the conservator and the artworks. This documentary provides invaluable insight to the process of oil painting restoration.
