Taipei Fine Arts Museum was founded in 1983, its design and construction overseen by the architect Kao Er-pan. The building’s cantilevered tube structure, standing along Zhongshan North Road and extending on all four sides with windows at staggered heights, is indelible in the memories of Taipei’s citizens, a vivid visual symbol of Taiwan’s first museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art.
