The 1980s: The Dawn of an Interdisciplinary Taiwan ForumEventKind

Introduction

Starting in June of 2019, the Museum and a team from Taipei National University of the Arts worked in stages on the 1980s Taiwan Transdisciplinary and Experimental Art Archives Research Project. By revisiting the 1980s, they explored the formation of culture at the transition between modern and contemporary in Taiwan, as well as the context that has continued to drive transdisciplinary development in Taiwanese contemporary art. Findings were presented in the Museum's journal Modern Art and included topical essays on film, theater, interdisciplinary art, spatial fields, trending ideas and publishing, and conflicts and compromises. Furthermore, on November 14, 2021, Jun-Jieh Wang and Huang Chien-Hung presided over the forum The 1980s: The Dawn of a Transdisciplinary Taiwan, which included two lectures and three panel discussions related to this research project.
