Public Service

In compliance with the Taipei City Government Department of Education’s Student Public Service Policy, the Museum is implementing a public service curriculum to increase student interest and enthusiasm for public service and to cultivate value pluralism. The Museum welcomes young students who are interested to sign up for this program.

 

Signing Up:

Call the Museum at (02)2595-7656 ext. 325 or 327 between 9:30 am and 5:30 pm from Tuesday to Sunday.

 

Eligibility:

Middle School students or higher who speak fluent Mandarin.

 

Work Hours:

Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, or 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Four positions are available for each shift. A shift is 4 hours, and each student can book 2 shifts a month. During summer months, shifts are also available from Tuesday to Friday.

 

Job Description:

  1. Assist visitors and maintain visitor flow in public and exhibition areas of the Museum.
  2. Other tasks related to visitor service.

 

Rules:

  1. Please dress appropriately (no shorts, short skirts, slippers, sandals, clothing with holes, or revealing clothing)
  2. For those who successfully book a shift, please report for work at the volunteer room on the second floor of the Museum 20 minutes before your shift starts.
  3. For those who successfully book a shift, please notify the Museum by telephone at least one day before the shift begins if you cannot attend. Failure to notify the Museum in a timely manner will result in being barred from further participation in the program.
  4. If on the day of your appointed shift there is a natural emergency, such as a typhoon or earthquake, please follow announcements made by the Taipei City Government or your local government regarding the closure of schools and government offices. In the case of such cancellations, there is no need to come to the Museum.
  5. During your shift, please follow the guidance of your supervisor. If inappropriate behavior or disregard for the rules negatively impacts the reputation of the Museum and if you cannot follow guidance, the Museum will stop your service learning arrangement and not issue verification of hours worked. In extreme circumstances, your school will be notified in writing of your dismissal.
